The first celebration of a Women's Day was on February 28, 1909 in New York. Then in 1910 The International Woman's Conference suggested March 8 become an "International Woman's Day." In 1917, after women gained the right to vote in Soviet Russia, March 8 became a national holiday there. It was then mostly celebrated by the socialist movement and communist countries until it was adopted in 1975 by the United Nations. Today it is observed all over the world and celebrated with marches, protests, and organized activities.
Here is a short video promoting the visibility of women with the hashtag #BesideNotBehind. It explores some of the ideas and issues addressed by IWD.
What is a celebration without music? This is a video called Women are awesome! celebrating incredible women athletes.

I think I agree that women are strong or more stronger than men but the protest in 8th March, in my opinion they should protest for more work in Spain for men and women because I think that women do this protest because they want work, I heared that many women didn't have work and have a career done and have no job, and not portest for equallity or women; when I were they, I will protest for more jobs for everyone.
ReplyDeleteThis is in my opinion, thank you.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for telling us information about women's day. I agree that women's replied about their rights and also, women are also humans so they have to be treated the same as men. Unfortunately, in some places they still don't care about this and it is very sad to see this on TV or in newspapers. I hope my opinion is valued.
Thanks again for posting information like this because it helps us to know new things about other country.

I am completely in favour of women's rights, but I think they are not respected in all countries, and that is so unvelievable. I am sure women are not treated the same as men, and thas has to change inmediatly. Some women aren't accepted is some jobs not because they aren't prepaired or good enough, but because they are women, and the men that are chosen for those jobs are definetely less cualified that women.
ReplyDeleteSo I think it would be fair for women in all countries to have the same rights as man do, because in saudi arabia that doesn't happen.
I think women should be treated as men are.
This is so great, I mean we need more people that support women. The women's day is a day to give thanks and support to all women in our lives. Women can do a lot of things , we only have to look women like Marie Curie , Frida kahlo or our mothers and grandmothers . I would like that there were more men fighting for women's rights and the equality between men and women . Thank you for posting this.

So, i really think that what you have posted is interesting and it motivates me to fight for women´s rights even more. i think women day is a good way to let women express their opinions. i am in favor of women's rights because sometimes men used to treat us like their slave, but that is changing through the years. In conclusion, women should be treated as men are.
ReplyDeleteReally liked your post.
